COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Four-time Olympian Darrell Pace (Cincinnati, Ohio) was elected President of the National Archery Association (NAA) Board of Governors (BOG) on Wednesday for a one-year renewable term. Pace has been a member of the BOG as a Northern Region Representative for three years.
Pace has been actively involved with the NAA for many years and was a member of the 1976, 1980, 1984 and 1988 Olympic Teams, having won individual gold medals in 1976 and 1984. He also won a team silver at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, South Korea.
As President, Pace’s role will be to preside at all meetings of the members and of the Board of Governors; see that all orders and resolutions of the members and of the Board of Governors are carried into effect; is the chief executive officer of the corporation and have general and active control of its affairs and business and general supervision of its officers, agents and employees; and serve as the voting delegate to the FITA Congress.
Pace replaced Mark Miller (Naperville, Ill.) who served as the NAA President for the last three years.
Eastern Region Representative, Randall (Pee Wee) Turner (Queens, N.Y), was elected First Vice-President of the BOG and Allen Rasor (Marana, Ariz), who has served on the BOG for one year as a Western Region Representative, was elected Second Vice-President.

"Il Quattro volte Olimpionico Darrel Pace è stato eletto mercoledì Presidente del Consiglio d'Amministrazione dell'Associazione Arceristica Nazionale, per un anno con possibilità di rinnovo della carica. Pace è stato membro del Consiglio per tre anni come rappresentante della Zona Nord. Pace è stato impegnato attivamente per molti anni nell'NAA e ha fatto parte della squadra Olimpica statunitense del '76,'80,'84, '88, ha vinto due Medaglie d'Oro individuali nel '76 e nel '84. Nell'88 ha vinto l'Argento a squadre a Seoul, Corea del Sud. Come Presidente, il ruolo di Pace sarà quello di presiedere a tutti gli incontri del Consiglio; controllare che tutte le direttive e le delibere del Consiglio d'Amministrazione vengano messe in atto; è il Direttore Generale del Consiglio ed esercita un controllo attivo generale sulle sue attività e sulle questioni economiche ed esercita un'attività di supervisione sui suoi funzionari, rappresentanti ed impiegati; sarà il delegato con diritto di voto al Congresso FITA. Pace prende il posto di Mark Miller, Presidente della NAA negli ultimi tre anni. Il Rappresentante della Zona Est, Randall Turner, è stato eletto Primo Vice-Presidente del Consiglio, ed Allen Rasor, il quale ha fatto parte del Consiglio per un anno come rappresentante della Zona Ovest, è stato eletto Secondo Vice-Presidente".
